RECERTIFICATION
BASIC LASER SCANNING

The IAFSM is offering a Basic Laser Scanning Recertification.

Recertification Requirements:

Provide a forensically sound laser scan data set.  Actual casework is preferred, but exemplar / mock scenes are acceptable if they can depict a reasonable representation of casework. 

The submitted data needs to be:

• 10 setups or more, with imaging
• Accurate registration and registration error reporting
• Cross sections of registered data to depict valid alignments
• A Narrative report on the collection process and creation of the submitted data / exhibit

A written exam will be scheduled between the instructor and candidate.

Conference attendance or 30 hours continuing education (FSM Training
Committee approval of education credits)

The candidate will need to submit the following for recertification:

• Current Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• The required casework laser scan data
• Continuing Education from last 5 years totaling at least 30 hours of relevant topics.  Certificates from the courses are required to be submitted and the topics are subject to approval by the IAFSM Training Committee.
• A letter on your agency or company letterhead indicating your continued use and access to laser scanning equipment / software.

Recertification validity - 5 years

Cost for Recertification:

Members - $250
Non Members - $350
