BASIC LASER SCANNING CERTIFICATION COURSE

The Basic Laser Scanning Certification Course will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at the Hilton Bayfront San Diego, CA, USA.  The POINTE Room main floor.

Course Requirements:

  • View 3 webinars prior to Sunday, November 3, 2024.
  • Attend the FSM offsite, Monday, November 4
  • Full conference attendance is required; November 4-8, 2024.  Conference is a separate registration fee.
  • You will need your computer and will need to download CLOUDCOMPARE

BLSC students must review the following three videos prior to arriving on the 3rd.  Exam questions will come from these videos, as well as the course content, so please watch them in their entirety.  Many students find the CloudComapre section challenging, especially if you are not familiar with 3D programs; therefore, it is highly recommended you download and install CloudCompare -
 and follow along in the software with the CloudCompare video.  Feel free to watch these videos more than once but before February 13th.  Each video is approximately 1 hour in length.

***Very Important: You MUST bring a laptop capable of installing and running CloudCompare to the BLSC course.  It is highly recommended that you also bring a 3-button mouse (a mouse with a scroll wheel) to help navigate in CloudCompare***
 

A written exam will be administered on Thursday afternoon, November 7 at the Hilton Bayfront. Exact time will be discussed on Sunday. There will be a study session planned during the week, view the conference schedule
